premeditated murder

we need to change our vocabulary
the truth of Russia’s terror, genocide,
nothing random, indiscriminate,
targeting civilians each time,
acts of premediated murder,
seeking to cause panic, despair,
raining hell down upon them
but never defeating their resolve…
 
Russia seeks to erase Ukraine,
to recapture all of its empire,
ready to slaughter her own people
to rise from the ash heap of failure,
the defeat of the former union,
prepared for a long struggle, a war
without any end in sight, never,
decades of war to come…
 
premeditated murder, war crimes,
awful double-tap against responders,
crimes against innocent children,
civilians asleep in their beds, exhausted,
living in the crucible of war, of terror,
the truth of their relentless evil, genocide,
blood of the innocents poured on them,
Russia is a terrorist state…

that we would melt together – v2

I picture our words come to life,
our bodies are intertwined, as one,
connected in our love, our passion,
holding one another as a lifeline,
a living prayer come to life…
I am inside of you, all of me,
so close that we share a heartbeat
a wish that we would melt together
sharing one hope, living one breath…
 
Hold on a little longer my love,
our words have the power to manifest,
to cross time zones, time and space,
our dreams are coming alive,
God has brought us together
He has anointed our union,
the sharing of our spirits,
our souls melting into each other
when our two become one…
 
The words of my vows are sacred prayers,
your words of love are the same prayers,
a hope for a lifetime together, bonded,
finding a place for love to grow
for our hope to come to life,
we can live our dream alive, right now,
though we are yet miles apart…
soon God will consummate our love
we will be in each other’s arms…

The words of scripture
not a conditional plea
but an assurance, affirmation,
our hope in prayer…
 
The psalmist, each of us,
standing on our faith,
praying to God,
but leaving it to Him…
 
Trusting in God’s goodness,
His answers to our prayers,
leaving them at the altar,
at the feet of God…
 
We each can live in peace,
we just pray and believe,
God will surely answer
every one of our prayers…

we pray to a person

not to the air, to the heavens,
to idols of stone, of wood,
to anything of this earth
yet we pray to a person
our risen Lord Jesus
seated in heaven,
on His eternal throne…
 
we come before Him in assurance,
we trust that He will answer our prayers,
we humbly approach Him
on His heavenly throne,
in reverence, in petition,
I faith God will bless us
that God loves us all…

a posture of closeness
of trusting in God
in proximity to the Creator,
the Savior of all…
dipping into the well of faith
assured of God’s presence,
His answer to prayer…
 
in steadfast prayer
no matter his steps
trusting in God
above all else,
sure of God’s goodness
trusting in God’s closeness,
His answer to prayer…

to remember the dead

To remember the dead
is to appreciate the living,
to hold each other more closely
united in love as one…
 
We must treasure these moments,
the gathering of so many beloved
all honoring the fallen dead,
their closeness with us still…
 
We honor our responsibility to the dead,
to their sacrifice, their presence,
their standing still beside us
in the crucible of these days…
 
By gathering together, set apart,
we remember who they are
their place in our beating hearts,
never to be lost in time…
 
To remember the dead
is to appreciate the living,
to hold each other more closely
united in love as one…
