Final Exams – v2

Let’s see, what were those courses,

in our seminary this semester

Oh yeah, they were -

Betrayal, abandonment, death,

and resurrection.

At the end of three years,

following the Master,

this was the sprint to finals,

our moments of confusion, of not feeling worthy

of running away, of waiting at the cross,

fearing after Friday, of hunkering down

only to feel the joy of Sunday,

of that first Fourth Day.

Out beyond the grave

with the Spirit coming

to give them power

new-born Christians

about to embark on the Way.
