if Gabriel stood before me
if God offered me a vision
would I choose to know
what the future held in
store
I think I would want to know
but I haven’t faced that
moment
Gabriel standing before me
and God making that offer
I think I would want to know
but not in minute detail
only wanting to know
the direction of my life
would I remain faithful
would my steps be mindful
of all God has given me
of what Christ has done
if it were not so, I pray I
would ask
that this would not be the
only path
that my life could take
only seeing a vision
of what was to be
nothing I could do
to change my destiny
