Coming up Beside Me – v2

Joy walked with me

on this dusty road,

though He was a stranger

before I opened up to Him

before He entered in

walking with my brothers

we walked with Him

with our brother Jesus

living with us in community

being His disciples, in that space together

a cloistered community, in the room,

living, praying, studying at His feet

Listening to Jesus, speaking to us all

through our brothers, our sister

sharing a piece of Him

over and over; like Mary,

we had to sit at His feet,

worshiping with our whole beings

anoint us with oil, with nard

to stop the world’s pressures,

day to day concerns

spending time with our Savior

walking that road

with Him on the journey
