A week ago, I was
on that ancient road,
stilling my
spirit, rekindling the fire,
walking with my
brothers, with our Brother
hearing His voice,
feeling His presence
His Father’s
grace, our Father’s grace
the Spirit living
in the space we shared
within our tears,
our laughter, our witness
sharing the road
with us still, out here
back in the “real-world”,
outside those walls,
beside us on our
journey, some just beginning
some farther down
the road, but all of us on the same road
sharing in the
telling of the story, and its meaning
in this present
time, for each of us
walking on the road
to Emmaus
with our Savior,
and one another
out into this
world
