Two years ago today
the day we wed
on the stone bridge
in the park
before the snow showers
A handful of friends,
our daughters, our God
and the cold wind
the icy walk below
Your blue dress,
my snowflake tie,
a beautiful silk bouquet
out in God’s creation
Words we wrote together
given by You, Lord
to share, to live by
Holy scripture with deep
meaning
From the Book of Ruth
for us, to read together
through the tears
Speaking your servant’s
words
Two rings, a kiss, a toast
promises declared in
covenant
sealing the moment
on this sacred day
when we wed
