We remember
those who stood up
those who paved
the way
for this idea,
this hope,
this dream of
America
those who were
counted
those who died
for us
Those who fought
for our freedoms
our liberty, from
the tyranny of the crown
from those who
would seek to destroy us
from divisions
from within
that which would
separate us
that would tear
us down
For these and
for so much more
we stop and
share a prayer
that we would
strive to live out
the dream we all
hold dear
that we rekindle
our hope
the ties that
bind us.
