yearning for a new bottom

risking everything important
lost in the world, broken,
cleaving to our sin, to the flesh,
yearning for a new rock bottom,
our sin exposed completely…
 
wanting to be fully faithful,
to speak light in the darkness,
but gathering chains to me
more stones than I can carry,
casting myself into the abyss…
