A Charter, a Promise

A hope written,
a Charter, a promise,
words of mettle,
of peace for humanity…
 
We gathered to sign,
a hope of humanity,
but the words Never Again,
are again, right now…
 
Justice must come,
Tribunals must be empaneled,
to give power to the words
inked 80 years ago…
 
Only in justice for
every victim, each war crime,
every crime against humanity
avenged somehow…
 
The rule of law, the center,
must be reinforced, shored up,
only in judgment,
will their victims rest…
