God’s love greater
than the tragedy in the Garden
the Fall as we call it
when we turned from God
Adam and Eve, as models for mankind
turning from God, the Creator
as if we were smarter, more able
listening to the voices, the devil
that would lead us away
not holding on to the Father,
going astray, to the distant land
God’s love greater, letting us
to choose the world, destruction
not making us choose Him
giving us free will, choices
God’s desire to be with us
risking it all in the choices He gave us
allowing us to run, to stray,
to turn from His goodness
wanting us to choose
to follow, to come
out of a wellspring of love
