letting us hate Him
denying the Master
turning from God
long before the Law
allowing free will
even though it would hurt Him
God’s desire to be with us
to cleave to creation
risking it all in the choices He gave us
allowing us to run, to stray,
to turn from His goodness
wanting us to choose
to follow, to come
to return to Him
out of a wellspring of love
