dying for evil people

dying for evil people
submitting to crucifixion
unlike the Messiah they imagined

born to poverty, in a stable
the animals, the shepherds
at his birth

visited by the Magi
foretelling his future
in the gold, frankincense and myrrh

sharing, going
serving as he went
the love of God for the world

dying for evil people
submitting to crucifixion
unlike the Messiah in their minds

Christ giving hope to people
from the manger, to the cross
to His throne above
