watching with Mary
the babe in the manger
knowing something of life
of the chaos of that night
of the birth, the angels, the shepherd
the animals sharing the nursery
her firstborn baby
laying in his manger bed
she reached a place of peace
on that not so silent night
the hope of the ages
what she pondered that night
seeing the baby Jesus
laying in his manger bed
