Work still to do – v2

in the words of his inaugural
the words of resolve
an echo of Joshua
of work still to do
a nation still divided
too many struggling
dying in the streets
perhaps bolder words
grander than his last
touching on our aspirations
that none would be lost
each initiative, each desire
to lift up our neighbor
to answer an innate call
to bind up our brothers
our sisters, the others
those who share this walk
those still struggling
in this nation we love
