Not some candy-coated,
some rose-colored, perspective;
my eyes wide open
to my current state.
Yet will I rejoice
joyful in my being;
even when calamity comes,
I will trust in the Lord.
God is there with me
for me all of my days;
leading me through the waters,
the fires of my way.
Leading me in my trials
God is there when I fear;
leading me to rejoice
I am ever in God’s care.
