Leaves of the lilacs - v2

Leaves of the lilacs, a kernel,

mimicking roses, their shape

infant shoots of this Springtime

awakening in brilliance, in glory,

a brightness, a darkening soon,

our hope, a yearning for Summer,

now bursting into life, our view.

Leaves of the lilacs, its branches

seeds of the autumn before winter

of another plant, hanging on their arms

a contrast of shades, seasons, of colors,

intertwined, mingling, captured,

cocoa, khaki and chartreuse

juxtaposed, sharing my view.

Leaves of the lilacs, wound tightly, ready,

for the warmth of the sun to burst open

to unfurl like a kite, a banner, a sheet,

a change of the seasons, a turning,

awakening, surging, shining,

cold giving way to Spring,

alive, exploding into view.
