Writing in cursive – v7

Telephone lines, power lines
straight lines, dotted lines, staccato,
The spaces in between them,
Creating writing blotters
a second-grade sheet
of yellow lined paper
Hung on the clear blue sky...
 
A seagull appearing, dancing,
soaring, climbing beside me driving,
rising, falling, drawing,
Writing in cursive,
Flying between the lines
some in upper-case,
some in lower-case letters...
 
The flick of its wings, its feathers
Carving a line, flared, elongated,
like a quill writing, in even strokes,
words, a masterpiece, elegant,
Drawing Japanese characters
rising through the divided lines
Climbing, soaring, ever higher, higher.
