Trapped in the cage of Rafah – v2

Trapped in the cage of Rafah,
displaced innocents slaughtered,
enemies buried, hidden, dispersed,
amid the civilian population…
 
Lambs prepared for slaughter,
gathered into the pen, a prison,
forced into a corner, boxed in,
their shepherd now a terror…
 
Nowhere to run, to hide, stuck,
corralled, forced into a corner,
all others turning away, hiding,
averting, covering their eyes…
 
The shepherd now their terror
sheep prepared for slaughter,
lost in the world’s indifference,
caged, forced into a corner…
