I put my hope in Your Word – v2

I put my hope in Your Word,
the love within holy scripture,
I climb back on the Potter’s wheel,
to feel Your touch, oh Lord…
 
Reshape me, mold me anew,
may my clay ever be pliable,
Turn me back to You, Lord,
I want to live in Your presence…
 
Teach me Your perfect will,
the path You have created for me,
Lead me, Lord, in Your righteousness,
let me be Your vessel…

We lost America on Monday

On the week when we celebrate,
our independence from a king,
our laws were distorted, twisted,
to serve an unjust purpose,
putting their hands on the scale,
choosing sides in a battle,
with no law, no precedent…
 
I Dissent for their expansion
of the Imperial Presidency,
I Dissent from their judgement
giving Absolute Immunity…
 
We lost America on Monday,
though many do not believe this
they gave a new king absolute power
and they have life-time appointments,
it will take generations, if we have them,
to reverse this unjust law they created,
when they legislated from the bench…
 
I Dissent to the terror,
destruction of the Rule of Law,
I Dissent from their activism
writing law from the bench…
 
How can we stop their usurping
their aggregation of hubris, of raw power,
deciding for the nation with cruelty,
with fear, for favor, fealty, allegiance,
to avenge, revenge, evil present, rising,
Pandora’s Box opened, rancid,
bile spewed on our beloved country…
 
I Dissent for the rewriting
of history, our sacred text,
I Dissent from the rise of fascism
death of the country we love…
 
This decision, this rule, will be reviled,
like Dred Scott, Plessy v. Ferguson, Korematsu,
a stain upon our nation, if we survive,
this judgement will be repudiated,
if there is still an America, a people,
who hold the truths of Independence,
words of steel written back then…
 
I Dissent from their activism
writing law from the bench
I Dissent from their lies, hypocrisy,
claiming to be strict originalists…
 
We lost America on Monday,
but We the People still have power,
to wall off their evil, this new law,
freedom for the tyrants, immunity,
but we can still hold them to account
we can stop the rise of hate, of fascism,
the idea of America, In this nation we love…

We lost America

On the week when we celebrate,
Our independence from a king,
Our laws were distorted, twisted,
To serve an unjust purpose,

I Dissent for their expansion
of the Imperial Presidency,
I Dissent from their judgement
giving Absolute Immunity…
 
We lost America on Monday,

Help me walk in Your ways

Lord, guide me, correct me,
Help to walk without fault,
Breathe Your Law within me,
May Your Word guide my every step…
 
Help to walk in Your ways,
That I might live righteous,
Lead me by the still waters,
Give me rest, may I be at peace…
 
Comfort me in my anguish,
Raise me up from the Pit,
Breathe within me Spirit,
May You be as close as breath….
 
Lord, guide me, correct me,

God can turn the tables.
God may hold you to account,
 
How would you answer
questions of the Almighty,
what would you say to God
if He called you to account?

because you are mortal,

Where is your grace,
your sense of forgiveness,
do you forget the grace God
has been poured out on you…
 
Where is your grace
when you judge a neighbor,
when you call out the speck
in another’s eye…
 
Where is your grace,
your compassion, in your spirit,
do you not recognize the fault
that you too carry inside…
 
Where is your grace
for each sister, each brother,
judging them harshly,
as if you are in the right…

God will gather us in, to heaven,
reaping us from this earth, this world,
God will bring us into the throne room
with Christ standing by our side…
 
God, our Father, of each prodigal child,
runs out to us, sends His Son, His Spirit,
to reach, to raise us from the mortal coil
God calls to us out on the road…
 
God, by grace, has washed us clean,
with the blood of our risen Lord Jesus,
God will bring us into His presence,
our loving Father will welcome us home…

our vision, what we can see,
the life God has created, that Christ
has prepared for us in paradise…
 
We conjure ancient words,
reading our bibles, living water,
streets of God, angels, singing,
but we have no idea, really, truly,
of what God has prepared for us…

the streets of gold in heaven above,

Imperishable, immortal – v2

Imperishable, immortal,
dead in the flesh, alive in the Spirit,
we will rise, we will ascend triumphant,
we will rise to the highest heaven,
at the trumpet’s call…
 
Imperishable, immortal,
we will climb up to heaven,
our earthly flesh transfigured,
we will rise as light creatures,
as we rise through the skies…
 
Imperishable, immortal,
light beings, ascendant, rising,
our bodies now spirit, alive with Christ,
joining God in the highest heaven,
at the trumpet’s call…

God is not finished
The work He started
He will complete
In you, in me, in each of us,
In all of our lives…
 
So, listen to the Spirit,
Follow Christ’s example,
Stay true to the path
God has place before you
For God is doing a work
In all of our lives…
 
God is not done
God is not finished,
The work He has begun,
Is not the end of our story,
God is working, God is completing
The work He began in each of our lives…

teach me Your perfect law,
Show me the path before me,
the way that I must go…

lead me in paths of righteousness,
Guard me on all sides, in Your power,
let me walk in Your light…

repair my broken vessel, my spirit,
Lift me from my pit, my struggle,
Spirit, lead me, guide my feet…

This madness must end – v2 #Ukraine

The carnage must stop,
This madness must end,
It is too much, too terrible,
Terror raining down, incessant,
A decade of war crimes, evil,
Falling on a sovereign nation-state…
 
While the world watches, silent,
Letting them go it alone, a people,
A nation emulating Tank Man,
Defiant, standing resolute, courageous,
Against the forces of evil, or terror,
While darkness stalks the street…
 
This madness must end,
No more excuses, half-measures,
No more turning a blind eye to truth,
To the horrors being committed, daily,
Standing with this people, this nation,
Until evil has been defeated, until victory,
Until a just peace comes to this land…

Immerse yourself in scripture
let the water bleed within you
open you heart to God’s Word,
let God’s love overwhelm you….
 
Stand in the truth, the light,
of Christ’s holy message,
change your path, your ways,
as you walk into God’s calling…
 
Immerse yourself in scripture,
feel the touch of the Potter,
listen for the voice of the Spirit,
guiding your every step…
 
Walk into your purpose,
with bold assurance, confident,
feel God’s abundance, present,
as you travel in God’s light…

Drenched in God’s love,
in waters overflowing,
our vessels, our bodies, filled,
as the waters cover the sea…
 
Drenched in God’s love,
in peace overwhelming
washed clean, forever,
by Christ’s offer of grace…
 
Drenched in God’s love,
filled with power, knowledge,
we walk in faith, the Spirit indwelling,
on the path God has written for us…
