We hide from reality
running over history –
the cause of this aggression –
claiming neutrality in genocide
when that is not an option...
Truth does not allow that deception
over their lies, their propaganda,
The blood in the streets...
 
Clarity has been obscured
within the fog of dependence
requiring too much courage
because of a silenced truth...
Complacency, self-interest
morphs to complicity,
in the face of terror -
A curse of our sin...
 
We claim to support them
to do what is just, to remember,
but we stand on the back foot
timid, complacent, complicit,
going no further than self-interest...
When they stand resolute...
When they have no choice...
When we must help...
