Jesus prayer for this night – v2

Jesus prayer for this night
for the disciples with Him
for all of those who followed,
who answer His call

Jesus prayer for this night
for the strength for tomorrow
for the challenge of Good Friday
knowing what was to come

Jesus prayer for this night
for His disciples in the upper room
for all of us who followed
who answer His call

sitting in the fields
the interior tin wall of
Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church
are shafts of wheat;
the crown molding top of the walls
are the heads of the wheat.

On the walls of the sanctuary, you will see names of saints who have gone before us in the stained glass but you will also see vertical stalks all around us. The tinsmiths put these there to remind us we are to the wheat ripe for harvest, ready to be gathered in by God. Look toward the ceilings, the heads of the wheat are ready. There are also sections of the wall and ceiling where we see the shape of vines, as we are connected in the vine. There are places on the ceiling that have the number 7 for perfection, the number 12 for the tribe of Israel and the number 40 for the forty days, the forty years, etc. There is the shape of shepherd staffs on either side of the Good Shepherd stained glass. There is an arch like the shape of the dome leading us into the chancel.
