Christ’s time in prayer

We read the holy scriptures,

the gospels about Jesus;

we see Christ in prayer

sometimes on the mountains

separated from others

sometimes sharing prayer

with the disciples, with the others.

Christ’s time in prayer

an example, a witness

of our own need to pray

to speak aloud our petitions

to spend time with the Father

to ground ourselves as He did

in relationship to God.
