The Spirit rejoices

like the prodigal’s father
running out to greet him
out on the road, joyful,
when we come back home…
 
the Spirit rejoices
when we confess our sin
when we pled for forgiveness
for new life to begin…
 
God has already forgiven us
through the finished work of Christ
unrepentant sin is death
as if Christ was still on the cross…
 
The Spirit rejoices
when we come to God
humbly submitting our whole lives
transparent, humble, as a child…
