They could never eat bread or drink wine without remembering

Forever changed, not in this moment,
but forever changed, by the power of these words
Imprinted within them, these words of Jesus
what he was about to suffer, his path in this life
They could never eat bread the same way again
they could never drink wine without remembering
these fateful words he spoke
The bread his body, the wine his blood
poured out as a blessing, a sacrifice
God’s mercy, His prayer for all of us
That we would believe, that we would remember
that each time we broke the bread, each time the cup
remembering Christ’s sacrifice, God’s love for us
Holding nothing back, dying for us
