the doves and the pigeons – v2

Jesus’ outrage, His anger,
God’s demanding for justice
of restoring the Temple
to a House of Prayer
not the whole business
the church enterprise
the bankers the merchants
buying and selling in the Temple courts.

the dove and the pigeons
the offerings bought
often with pain, with anguish
from the poor, the least of these
the lost of the nation
Christ’s anger focused
on the imbalance of power
on the gatekeepers of access
of entry for the poor into the presence of God.
