Economic Justice

Christ stood with the poor
those on the margin
overturning the tables
speaking truth to power

What would he say, now
about those with no insurance
in a land of wealth, abundance
with such an imbalance of powers

What table would he overturn
if he came in this hour
would he march on Wall Street
would he storm the Capitol

Would Pennsylvania Avenue
be his new headquarters
would he stand silent
in the face of such oppression
