Two threads, lives joining
bound together
part of the circle
of the family, the clan
joined with others
children to follow
but not the end of the story
A mirror cracked, broken
one in the circle now an Other
the circle unwound, uncoiled
shards sharp, hurting
their pain real, abiding
cutting into flesh, deeply
all who would touch them
Open wounds remaining
the circle so important
family, others needed
healing their damage
yet shards still there
encapsulated, remaining
waiting under heavy scar tissue
Hope in time for the circle
for the children in the union
for peace in troubled lives
comfort in that middle
when the Two who were One
split asunder, broken
shards remaining yet
under deep scar tissue
