Broken, unholy

Broken, unholy
bleeding, unclean
reaching up to Jesus
from the darkness, the mob

On my knees in the dust
broken, unholy
bleeding, unclean
dead to the others

An open wound weeping
needing to touch him
to be with my Jesus
kneeling before him

My life poured out, weeping
falling before him
my pain at the cross
reaching for him

He alone, only my Jesus
able to heal me
to lift me from the dust
to make me whole
