behind the words – v5

behind the words
a feeling, a yearning
a hope for connection
for holy communion
to walk with my Savior
one day entering God’s kingdom

poetry of scripture, the Word
deep, layered language
grasping something deeper
something within our souls
something worthy, abiding
wisdom entangled

illusion, metaphor, emotive
deep meaning, feeling
a moment, history
allegory, a feeling
life unfolding
meandering, a journey

behind the words, God’s whisper
a breath, a prayer, calling
feelings in there, abiding
behind the words
my mind, bold image, color
a picture down there

words on the page
holy words of life, calling
a story of ourselves
speaking deep inside
something deeper involved
a symbol of something more

richly unfolding, a story
enduring, revealing
the hope unwinding
evoking a feeling
life restored, redeemed
in the words on the page
hope universal
to the end of the age
