too weak in our desires
our hopes and our dreams
seeing only the mundane
when God offers us life...
 
we are happy in the ruts
in our unfulfilled lives
making mud pies in a slum
separated from God...
 
too timid to ask
to speak joy into the world
failing to think big enough
to truly walk with God...
 
we settle for bittersweet,
lost in this world
when we live apart from God
death is our reward...
