painting with light – v3

the Creator, each morning
starting with a blank slate
picking up His brush,
painting with light
across the dome, the canvas;

an image forming from God’s hand
an awakening below the horizon
the sun rising, glorious,
from his slumber, the shadows,
like a runner beginning a race;

God pulls back the screen,
God opens wide the curtain,
raised by invisible hands
wooing the morning
all is good in God’s sight
