Together, we are the body
the bride of Christ
that braided cord
that everlasting vine
We abide in You, Lord,
In You we are alive...
 
We join with Your saints
the unbroken line
in praise, in worship,
We lift up our hands
grafting in our threads
In You we are alive...
 
Together, we are the body
branches in Your vine
children of the promise
inheritors of grace
We abide in You, Lord,
In You we are alive...

#grace, a #posture of #servanthood – v2 #poetry #God #Christ #Spirit #admit #believe #trust #inventory

We are challenged by the word,
the Spirit fighting our flesh,
leaning into God’s calling
to work out our salvation
with fear and trembling...
 
We abide in grace, humbly,
in God’s infinite love...
 
We shine in the world,
holding tight to scripture,
knowing our only hope
is in Christ Jesus
our risen Lord and Savior...
 
We are called to servanthood
death to our flesh...
 
We serve in the world,
offering ourselves,
fighting our flesh,
offering grace on our journey
our steps on this path...
 
We abide in God’s mercy,
in God’s infinite love...

We must come broken and humble,
bleeding, self-aware of our sins,
Sure, of our weakness,
of our dependence on God...

God desires our hearts
the core of our being
our lives on His altar,
our Judge, our King...

God cannot heal us
unless we confess we are broken
God wants us to come to Him
with our broken heart...

We are broken and humble,
yet we are yoked with Jesus
We stand redeemed,
saved by grace alone...

God offers us heaven
through the gate of the cross...
Christ suffered and died
a life for all our lives...

naming the stones
the nails that Christ carried
our sin, our pain, our shame,
that Christ bore to the cross...
 
owning the weight
the sin Christ carried
peeling back the skin
under scar tissue...
 
emptying ourselves
of the pain Christ carried
letting go of the weight
of our guilt and shame...
 
moving forward with Christ
leaving our sin on the altar
nailed to the cross...
carried no more...
