the sisters of Lazarus
Mary and Martha,
whom Jesus loves...
 
the rabbi coming
Martha running to Him,
professing her faith
believing His identity...
 
a cloud of witnesses
cloistered around Mary
while sitting shiva
Lazarus bound in a tomb...
 
leaving their house
walking with the grieving Mary
with her when Jesus
calls Lazarus from the tomb...
 
a cloud of witnesses
facing the power of Jesus...
God here in the flesh
raising the dead to life...
 
no denying the miracle
the removing of his garments
Lazarus alive, breathing,
the air of Jesus’ healing...
