We worship – v2

we worship
not before God
not coming to the Savior
believing in the Creator
turning our backs,
our faces from God;
running away from him
following the world

we worship
at the altar of our desires
our snouts in the mud
wallowing in filth
forgetting our place,
as children of the King;
running away from him
following the world

through this time of storms – v2

through this time of storms
this wrinkle in the road
change in our lives
a wonder to behold

God working in this time
bringing us closer yet
smile in her little face
giving us rest

A plan being worked out
what we know, not yet
in His time to be revealed
in prayer and faithfulness

Sitting at my computer crying – v2

Reading the words of scripture
my earlier poems, breath prayers
speaking words of thanksgiving
for your sacrifice for me, oh Lord

Sitting at my computer crying
typing words of your love
hoping I will always remember
the enormity of what you have done

Wanting to share more fully
words of what you have done
giving us a Savior
in sacrificing your Son

Lord give me words to share
to witness to your Love
sending us a Savior
in sacrificing your Son

No Price for His Love

More than we can truly understand
that there is no price for his love
God freely giving
all that I ever need
even going to the cross for me
paying my cost with his life
the lamb, my brother
no price do I owe
but my humble praise
turning, conforming my life to him
in thanksgiving to my king

When we are stuck, in the mud

When we are anchored in our worries
lost in this broken world
unable to know what to do
not knowing where to turn

When we cry out to God
in the depths of our sorrow
lost in this darkened world
wanting peace, comfort

God rains down on us
watering us richly with love
growth where we are planted
anchored in this world

God finds us there
when we are stuck, confused
unable to fix ourselves
needing his holy word

God gives us hope, salvation
when we turn from our old path
new life in his forgiveness
in Christ, his gift to the world

Growth where we are planted

When we are stuck, in the mud
when we are anchored in our worries
unable to know where to turn
if we are open to God’s calling

God rains down on us
watering us richly
growth where we are planted
anchored in the world

God finds us there
when we are stuck, confused
unable to fix ourselves
needing his holy word
