A high priest without blemish – v2

Christ was worthy,

able to atone for us

because He was without sin

a High Priest without blemish

entering the Temple for us.

He descended from heaven

Christ came to sacrifice

to bear all our sin;

He went to the cross for us

that we might live.

one hour on Sunday – v2

we seek an inoculation

a booster shot

a weekly prescription

an hour on Sunday

to stanch the bleeding

to heal our hearts

But we carry an incurable disease

the sin of our being

that which we commit

our estrangement from God

the distance we create

in the choices we make

we need a solution

a permanent replacement

given new life, new life

when we put on Jesus

when we let go of the past

and put on the Christ

One final sacrifice – v2

The one singular priest

pure, no need for sacrifice;

entering the Holy of Holies

where few may enter in.

Going the way of Aaron

entering into the center;

a sacrifice like no other

the lamb giving Himself.

Prayers to the Father

God choosing to sacrifice;

climbing the altar of the cross

that we no more may die.

One final sacrifice

once and for all time;

one pure offering of love,

complete, sublime.

her gift a pittance

nothing of real value

two small coins;

but to her

not in the flesh

our sin, our failures

in the blood

of our Lord Jesus

how much more

is this blessing

washing us fully

our lives restored

not the world

the way we travel

the way God planned

from the beginning

how much more

is this blessing

walking with Christ

on the Way.

one Creator, one Savior

one Spirit of the living God

one together, one in union

dancing with us

alive in the world

the unity of the Trinity

the three in one

one God forever

filling us with love

come down from heaven

redeeming our bodies

with us always

on the journey, this path

guiding us homeward

in the dance of our lives
