The sacrifice of Christ
the Spirit which clothes us
the choice he made
to submit his will to God
The cup that he drank
the eternity of sorrows
the stain to his lips
making him sin
God giving us freedom
by dying to our sin
falling into the deep waters
descending to the dead
We wear Christ
his body, his armor
because he became sin, death
dying that we would have our freedom

To God’s Will
Christ, Love
God come to earth
the son, a man
submitting to God’s will
living out the father’s plan
Good, walking in the world
washing away our sin
the cup to his lips
bitter fruit of human hearts
the pure lamb
weighed down
the yoke, the cross
a crown of thorns
the cloak of our shame
humiliated for our sake
setting us from sin
walking according to God’s will

We, disciples of the Lord
saved by his choice
redeemed by his sacrifice
Clothe us in love
the mantle, the yoke

Able to forgive our neighbors

strengthened, free,
following the Christ
the example of our brother
guided by the spirit

Unbalanced Scales
When we think of the exchange
nothing like even
unbalanced scales
the gift of the Lord
Nothing like even
his life for our lives
our stain for his light
our shame for his armor
protection in this life
his Spirit indwelling
walking with us
grounded in the water
standing on the foundation
abiding in the vine
in the arms of his love

Wearing our sin
