We confess we are sheep
while we long to be servants
to be useful to You, Lord.
We are lost, we wander,
yet we serve Your Word…
 
We confess we are broken,
We have wandered from You.
Guide us back to Your flock,
to abide in Your sheepfold,
to walk with You, oh Lord…
 
We long to be servants,
to be useful to You,
to serve others,
to bring glory to Your name
while we walk this earth…
 
We long to be useful,
to carry Your message.
We desire to draw closer,
to feel You walking beside us.
Gather us home, Lord,
when we are lost…

We fill the hole in our lives
when God is missing.
We find false idols, treasure,
when all we need is God…
 
We are no longer the center
when we see God rightly.
He is our hope, our salvation
our joy above all else…
 
We must remember
God is the answer
to all our questions
for a life of abundance…

A sword of Damocles,
a curse, a warning, explicit,
one strike and you are out,
no matter the circumstances,
the precedent, the capriciousness,
the callousness of the edicts
defining the terms, the consequences,
of even a moment of failure;
No recourse, no, get out.

Too often tethered to the earth
to my flesh, my burdens,
not seeing my why, my purpose
lost on my path, my way,
seeing only darkness

Wanting to dance in the clouds
rising from the earth
to gather wings to me
to shed my fears, my chains,
to sing with abandon

Wanting to strive, to reach
for my dreams, my vision
my calling in the clouds
soaring, unburdened,
joyfully, with abandon

Released from my fears
unchained, unshackled
living into my future
believing in God’s gifts
my life of abundance

Tethered to the earth

in my flesh, my burdens,

lost on my path, my way,

lost on our path

mired in the dust

dead in the world.

straying from God

trusting in ourselves

lost in the world

away from the truth.
