There are new shoots for the vineyard

prepared in the greenhouse, within hearts,

new growth from the garden, from us,

from the soil well-prepared

God’s Word living within us

the Spirit alive with us

the soil, the shoots,

for God’s good planting

A community restored

hope for the Garden

tended, offered,

being faithful only,

to ensure God’s harvest

the bounty of God

God’s good planting – v4

There are ever seeds spread

new growth upon the earth

shoots for the vineyard

of the kingdom of God

The soil is well prepared

the word is living within us

God’s good planting

of community restored

of hope for the Garden

lives forevermore

The garden is tended, offered

faithful only to the Kingdom

to ensure the harvest

to fulfill the bounty of God

One vine, one people

yet we must do our part

faithful in our growing

worthy of his grace

wanting good things

to reap a harvest

Bad Vines

Seeds planted in good soil
loved by the owner
watered and cared for
yet producing no good fruit

Bad vines only
a bitter harvest
yet the roots still green
worthy, in the ground

From the root new life
the people to be reborn
if we turn to our master
the vine will be restored

Oh God, water your garden
pour out your grace
on the dormant vineyard
that we may grow in your love

The roots still green
the shoots yet alive
under the layer of sin
in you will we thrive

Center on God
into his arms
within his robe
a sanctuary of life

Before Immanuel

The prophet foretelling
the birth to the virgin
Immanuel, God with us,
from the holy seed
buried in the ground
as God had promised

Before Immanuel
the people to be ravaged
other peoples becoming God’s agents
