I leave care, my day behind me,
stepping beyond the grass, the brush,
into the autumnal forest, resplendent,
precious, bathed in varied color, in light.
I enter worship, sanctuary,
into the cathedral of the trees
focusing on the sky, the canopy,
grace, singing from my knees.
Years later, I remember well,
those moments, these woodlands,
every tree displaying their worship,
their bodies, their arms lifted to God.
