a wound open, not healing

a wound open, not healing
infected, oozing,
puss, other discharge
needing more attention
staples, stitches being pulled out
without anesthesia, unclean
unsanitary conditions
buried deep, infected
a part of the skin
the body, the flesh
trying to remove
but it is not easy
the infection awakened
putting up a fight

trying to remove the ink from the milk
imagery - not putting the toothpaste
back in the tube; but removing
a drop of ink out of a gallon of milk
or like fully removing kudzu
or the roots of dandelions from land.

trying to remove the ink from the milk – v2

trying to remove the ink from the milk
the dye out of the solution, mixing,
roots sunk down deep, within,
into the fabric, deep meaning
pain too great to bear

trying to remove the ink from the milk
the dye of out of the solution, quickly,
cutting off the ties that bind
holding us, that connect us together
pain too great to bear

trying to remove the ink from the milk
the dye out of the solution, a process,
striving to remove, to extract
the threads, the drops remaining
pain too great to bear

trying to remove the ink out of the milk
the dye out of the solution, completely
a slow painful process, itself a journey
removing, severing all ties
pain too great to bear

In What We Share - v2

All of us are mindful,
or so should we be,
charitable and gracious
to our neighbor;
there is more in what we share
than the things
the small divisions
that keep of us apart

So much of faith
the core of our beliefs
the same across religions,
denominations and creeds;
The Creator, Sustainer,
the love of the deity
all of us believing
in the same oneness of God

Drinking the water – v5

drinking the water
becoming one with it
sharing its essence
and its life force

drinking the water
sharing with it
your life, your story
and the journey it is on

becoming a portion
a stop on its sojourn
the water abiding
while it walks with us

If you have a glass full of liquid you can discourse forever on its qualities, discuss whether it is cold, warm, whether it is really and truly composed of H-2-O, or even mineral water, or saki. Meditation is Drinking it!”

Drinking the water – v4

drinking the water
diving in, open
becoming one with it
sharing its essence
its life force, power

drinking the water
sharing with it, becoming
melted, molded, woven
your life, your story
the journey it is taking

becoming a portion, a droplet
a part of the vast ocean
a stop on its sojourn
the water abiding
while it walks with us
