From our children – v2

We receive from them
the innocents among us;
From our children
moments of wonder;
Joy we have forgotten
touched by the world

From our children
lessons important;
Joy we have forgotten
caught by the world;
From our children
we see awe and wonder

Joy we have forgotten
led by the world;
From our children
sparkles of eternity;
Joy we have forgotten
still offered by God.

The way they should go – v3

Focus on your family
on the care of the children;
Cleave to God’s teaching,
Follow His path,
not your own understanding.

Teach the children,
share with them the Gospel
the guidance of the scripture;
Show them the way they should go
and in time they too will follow.

As they were called

As they were called
living their faith
the choices they made
as they were called

putting aside the world
the easy way, perhaps
but faithful to God
as they were called.

Choosing home

a ministry of purpose
staying with them
to teach them faith
choosing home
the apron
not a career, money
choosing home instead

what we give, not what we get

the call to share
in following Christ
modeling our behavior
upon his life
what we give
not what we get
what defines our lives
the truth of our walk

God is the Loving Parent

(a retelling of the 23rd Psalm)

God is my loving parent
I don’t have to fulfill my needs

You sing me lullabies
you woo me to peace, to sleep.

You refresh my troubled spirit;
In keeping with your promises,
You show me how to walk with God.

Though I am sometimes afraid,
I feel safe, when I hold your hand.
Your arms and your voice
they give me inner peace.

You make a harvest dinner,
before those who would hurt me.
You pour a blessing upon me;
My joy cannot be contained.

Your Goodness, Your Care pursue me
every moment of my life.
I shall live with my loving parent
all the days of my life.
