Unless we go and do likewise - v2

We are called, we are commissioned,

we are commanded by Jesus

to go and do likewise

to take up our cross.

We are charged by eternity

by our risen Lord and Savior

to go and do likewise

to be His hands and feet.

Unless we go and do likewise

others will never see Jesus

our Lord and Messiah

in their life on this earth.

We are the descendant

the children, the disciples

we are to go and do likewise

to be Christ’s hands and feet.

through the blood of Jesus

healing our sin, our shame

joining our lives to Him.

each son, each daughter

joined with Christ, with Mary,

through the blood of Jesus.

Not James but John

An adoption at the cross

a meddling of the strands

the threads of Christ’s life

in His words from the cross

An adoption, a melding

a stitching together, mending,

joining His mother

with the one He loved.

An adoption, a melding

not James, but John

given the responsibility

to care for Mary,

Christ’s mother in life.

One day we shall be in #Paradise

One day we shall be in Paradise

All of us the thief beside Jesus

crying out in anguish

hanging on our cross

condemned for our sin

All of us denying God

the love that God offered

all of us since Adam

all are guilty of sin

But one day, one day

one day we shall be in Paradise

because Christ gave His life

to redeem us from sin

One day we shall be in Paradise

this is Christ’s promise

true for the thief that day

and for each one of us

yoked with our Brother,

our risen Lord and Savior

dying in shame, in sin

yoked with our Brother

the One who came to save us

beside Christ on our cross

worthy of death

yoked with our Brother

our one hope, the Messiah

beside Christ on our cross

but eternity awaits

yoked with our Brother

in Paradise right now, joyful,

beside Christ in heaven

a future of eternity now
