time has more layers – v3

It is hard to even write these lines

knowing they are inadequate;

Trying to explain the limits

of our minds, of our comprehension.

For us to see beyond

this narrow dimension;

How can we fathom at all

the thought of eternity?

We are blind, we cannot see

what we cannot touch;

We think we understand

when so much is unknown.

Beyond our understanding

our vision, our comprehension;

We think we know, we understand,

but we don’t know much.

Time has more layers

in the infinite, in heaven;

Time is not just minutes

hours, and seconds.

Time is cherished,

time is a limited commodity;

But that is just bound

by what we can see.

Immersed in Love,

saturated with living water;

God’s living presence abiding

His Spirit within.

Time with more layers

than what we know so well;

Far more than our sight,

what our eyes can see.

Love unbound,

for greater vision;

God’s grace all around us

like a cloud, a fog

a living presence,

goodness and mercy

pursuing us somehow

we are surrounded by God

we are drenched with His presence

behind and before us

like the fire, the cloud

the ancient people,

on our journey with us

we are empty, we are filled,

we are surrounded by God

the Spirit within us

with us each step

the journey yet before us

following Christ,

the way of the cross

Lord, this scripture is hard

calling to search us, even me

for You to find

any imperfections

(for I know what You will find).

I wish I were clean

but I know I am broken

I hate to think

what You must find

if I am truly honest

(but You know me already).

Burn off the crap,

the junk within me,

send your angels to

rip out the thorns,

tares in my garden;

I want to stay good soil.

Shovel out the manure

the ripped fabric

I want to be fruitful

prune the dead away;

make me for a purpose.

burn off the crap

Lord, this scripture is hard
