An undivided heart – 2 – v2

Though we are human, mortal

we have responsibilities, commitments

we are bound by our covenants

to our partner, to our children

God calls us, as to the single

bound to Him always

an undivided heart for Him

a freedman in God

A slave by choice to the Christ

bound to our Master

all of our lives

for God’s holy purpose

Christ wore our flesh

we too climbed the cross

dying with him, righteous

cleansed of our stain

until we journey

the way of the cross

our whole wandering

caught up in sin

when we claim Jesus

we too live, we rise

from the grave

we ascend to victory

Called Into Service – v2

Each of us uniquely

called to service, to worship

as given by the Spirit

gifts for the work

building up the church of God

Called into service

to use the gifts we are given

to teach one another

the love of our God

Caring for the community

those who are our neighbors

the strangers in our midst

that they would come to the table

The saving of Christ’s sacrifice

his victory over death

the narrow gate of heaven

through the blood of the lamb

Yet freely his love given

unmerited, agape

so we must spread the news

Christ paved the way

we are redeemed before our God

Expel Them from Among You

Those who are false believers
wicked, holding onto their treasure
unrepentant of their sin
unable, unwilling to see
A harsh teaching, ostracized,
cast out, into the darkness
expel them from among you
utterly repudiated
lost from your midst
Only prayer, that they will turn
a judgment of unrighteousness

Anointed Together

We are joined by our dying
submitting to the waters
falling into the depth
burning off the past
Like refiner’s fire
the cleansing of silver
dying in the waters
Joining with our Savior
in the sacrifice of sin
in dying with him rising
to new life again
Born of the Spirit
new beings in Christ
only those like us
anointed for a purpose
bound for paradise

Changing history
if we would claim him
following Christ

created, joined
one family, one body
by the blood of the lamb
reborn, a people

we come together

offering our witness

Not by our past
the way of our lives

As we journey
in this walk of life
remaining salt
yet carrying Christ’s light
some will drop away
those not of the faithful
those for a season,
for a reason in our lives
leaving them, prayerful
given unto God
that He would bring healing
healing in his time

Under the veil of protection

Our journey protected
the blood covenant
blood of the lamb
on the lintels of our hearts

Under the veil of protection
from the slings and arrows
the forces of evil
stalking us in this life

Those outside
walking in the world
those on the inside
falsely claiming your word

Guard our hearts, Father
on this journey of life
that we may be yoke with our Savior
sharing your love richly
bearing his holy light

Being true disciples
following the Christ
guided by the Spirit
going the way of the cross
