Constellations of Light – v3

Each a separate star

in the sky, a thread, a filament,

in the tapestry, in the fabric,

the gifts I feel called to share

a constellation of light, me

At the center my sense of the Creator

my relationship with God

but all the rest

part of who I am

who I am meant to be

Not one single path

messier than this image

grays, colors, blending

bleeding into one another

a more complicated hue

all needed for the picture

the whole of the tableaus

that there wouldn’t be a missing piece

together alone the whole of me

as God intended from the start

Constellations of Light – v2

A way to understand them

each a separate star

in the sky, a thread

in the tapestry, the pattern,

the gifts I feel called to share

a constellation of light, me

my earthly journey, each one

At the center my faith in Him

my relationship with God

but all the rest

part of who I am

who I am meant to be

Not one single path

messier than this

grays, colors, blending

bleeding into one another

a more complicated hue

All of these needed for the picture

the gifts all needed, together

the whole of the tableaus

the threads of the tapestry, all necessary

that there wouldn’t be a missing piece

together alone the whole of me

as God intended from the start

A Prayer for Boldness

Maybe not so much for discernment
What I should do
Maybe a prayer for boldness
To answer His call
To set with confidence
Trusting in Lord
To move my feet surely
Stepping on the waves
To trust in my Savior completely
Following his voice
Ignoring the winds
Those who would doubt
Heeding his message
Beating in my heart

Fired by the Spirit, Drowning in Doubt

So much of the challenges
Struggles in our lives
Failing to have boldness
To trust in the Lord

Fired by the Spirit
Yet drowning in self-doubt
Needing to be safe
To know the way out

Not walking on the water
Safely in the boat
Failing feel the love
That comes to those who boldly
Step out of the boat

Time Passed Quickly

The minutes, hours
days of our lives
time passed quickly
like dust borne on the wind

Called to be mindful
purposeful in our walk
spreading the seeds of God’s love freely
like dust borne on the wind

The message of Christ
grace come to earth
poured out in full measure
like dust borne on the wind

Stoking the Fire

More fuel
for my focus
my purpose
stoking the fire
of my calling
my sense of who I am
what I am meant to become

Another step
on this journey
climbing higher
going further
deeper still
on the path
laid out for me

Listening closer
your voice speaking
welling up
from within my heart
calling me onward
going where
I am meant to be

Adding More Fuel

Would that your fire
the fire of your love
ever burning
adding more fuel
words to my passion
more steps onward
climbing ever
to my goal
into your light

Reaching further
your warmth calling
following you
out into the world,
the darkness,
seeking your presence
feeling your with me
on the journey
all of my days

Climbing Mountains

The visions of our futures
when we chart goals for our lives
climbing mountains
not standing, mired in the mud

Moving forward, purposeful
climbing one step at a time
helping others along
that we would share the climb

Going before, leading
gathering friends on the way
seeking higher ground
each and every day

Points on a Sphere - edited

Not rigid poles,
marking the ends, of a line
static and unchanging
a yes or a no situation
in clear black and white

Not even arcs of a circle,
segments, wedges,
me in the center,
segmenting time
places where spokes alight

Points on a sphere
upon the dome
ever turning, whirling,
moving like a ball
rolling across an uneven floor

Such are the choices
my calling, my purpose
my gifts and my talents
my identifies, roles moving
not an either - or
but yes to them all

flowing
out, into the ether
stones cast,
ripples on the waves
out into the seas
coming back
to these shores
echoes of eternity

Love from God
written down
shared with the world
my faith,
my life
in words
of family

grace
abounding

From One Spot to Another

Trying to land, to go
from one spot to another
seeking to join from point to point
when baby steps are better

A dance of movement
each beat in time
morphing rather than jumping
from one identity to another
all are a part of me

The Ripples Returning

In casting the seeds
the stones, the words
into the ground, the sea
ripples touching distant shores
but sometimes returning to me

A wonder, in the sharing
the words finding fertile soil
reaching hearts open
sending their love in reply

Returning these gifts from God
that they would be planted deeper in me
Casting more stones out into sea
seeds on the wind,
planted on distant shores

Changing the Shades of Gray

In colors and in gradations
changing the shades of gray
letting go of the black and white
the need to find the best balance
of the callings that I feel

A range of gifts, of talents
all the things I do well
each valid, each from God
the giver of all

Needing to rethink
to be open to each one
finding the best way to be me
messy and unique
in this peace, happiness
answering my call from God
