More of the harvest – v2
our hands coming to you
more of the harvest
brought to you, oh God
the gathering in
the gifts to your table
to the altar of God
the storehouse filling
up to the Lord

Signs that we are open
Maybe a sandwich board
standing before the church
maybe people on the sidewalk
someone to greet
Something we might be doing
signs that we are open
wanting others to come
to come before the Lord
All of our days worship
yet wanting to gather
all of our neighbors
into the house of the Lord
Needing to be purposeful
to shine the light out there
beyond the walls of the sanctuary
out into the world

Are we really welcoming

Transforming Their Hate
Using their words
turned right around
transforming their hate
into love
Offering hope
in this connection
living out their faith
in holy conversation
Wishing to be
what God would call us to be
being Christ
in the face of evil
Offering love
when they would spew hate
none of us to judge
for we know our fate
Judge not we are told
because of the mirror
forgiving others
that God would show mercy
God’s grace alone
the gift of the cross
Christ’s sacrifice for us
for all of mankind

Open Arms of Love
Our choice to make
how we treat our brother
our sisters in this walk
the walk of our life
Open arms of love
or closed fits of anger
seeking to lift them up
or climb over the stranger
We should be acting
as if we are God’s servants
humbly serving
offering hope to our neighbors
Telling them of God’s love
sharing Christ’s grace for us
witnesses to His redeeming
his sacrifice on the cross

Love Verses
Each of us able
to choose love not hate
offering love verses to our neighbors
spoken from our hearts
Nothing needing to be fancy
sometimes the words written
sometimes written only
on the fabric of our hearts
Other times the prayers
the offering of our mouths
written in the smiles we offer
to our brothers, our sisters
sharing the wellsprings of love

Poems of Love
Our words a song
the wellsprings of our hearts
offering poems of love
speaking of the Christ
of our joy, our witness
lifting our neighbors up
hoping they will join us
walking with our Savior
in this walk of faith
leading us with his Spirit
on the holy way
joining the heavenly chorus
singing God’s praises

To all who came to him
Christ was open
outside of structure
nothing rigid about our Savior
humble to a fault
To all who came to him
he offered his love
extending his hand to us
healing our brokenness
All of us like those
who lived in his time
needing the saving of his grace
the love of his touch
We are the same as them
needing our brother
the shepherd still calling to us
to come and be his people

Extended His Hand in Love
Christ’s example, our model
how we are to love
to offer our hand in friendship
to lift our neighbor up
Christ was not choosy
excluding the low, the rejected
he extended his hand in love
to all of the people
We should do not less
excluding any neighbor
our doors should be open
to help our brothers
all our sisters in need
