The Infinite held within her womb – v2

A treasure of endless value

A gift sublime

The child growing

In her body appearing

The infinite held, the Christ,

Within the vessel of her womb

A bit of clay, a pearl

In God’s time revealing

Immanuel, Messiah

The One, the Christ

God’s gift, in mercy

Humbly giving

A path for our healing

Christ come down,

As a babe in her body

Nurtured, growing

In the fullness of time

Alive, with us, God here on earth,

In the skin of our clay

Walking with us

Embodying God’s grace

The journey of our Advent

Our vision, our gaze
fixed on Jerusalem
the place of David
where Christ was to be
that place of power
his life to come to an end
after his false trial
to lead us home again

that the Magi saw
the natal star of Christ
