don’t be anxious,
God’s timing is perfect,
His path is straight…
 
Lean on God’s promise,
to always be with you;
Cleave to the Lord,
walking where He leads you…

About consciousness, about patience,
 
Wondering about the waiting,
How patiently, how silently,
The spider on her web,
and our military in their silos,
 
Waiting vigilantly, focused,
For the moment to pounce, to act…
 
How many of us have that patience,
Waiting weeks for prey,
Waiting ready for decades,
Hoping never to be called to act…

Funny how a spider waits,
lingers motionlessly,
for prey to vibrate
the strands of the web…
 
to touch the right spot,
to become ensnared,
by her guile, her cunning,
her trap; forever patient,

Be still in #Christ’s presence – v2

Feel the Spirit with you, within you,
Christ’s presence in this moment,
Be still, stay focused, faithful,
On the path God has written.
 
Do not be overwhelmed, afraid,
Cleave to Christ’s presence,
To the Spirit within you,
Calming your fears.
 
Stay focused, earnest,
To do good in your journey,
Stay faithful, humble,
Waiting for God’s time
To reveal His plan…

Cries of the battered woman – v4

Her voice too shrill,
her anger surging up,
yet trying to be “friendly”;
Tears rising from her soul
triggered pain bubbling up.
 
I can hear them now,
authentic, all too real,
cries of the battered woman;
Standing all alone beside me
seeking only justice.
