feeling you with me – v4

feeling You with me
my God, my Savior
in the storms, in my struggles,
in the shadow lands,
in the trials of this life

feeling You with me
Your holy Presence,
guiding me, safely,
through the trials, challenges,
through the storms of my life

equipped by the Spirit – v2

our lives are transformed
we are equipped by the Spirit
we are chosen for the work
to serve, to love God.
we are equipped by the Spirit
we are given tools to serve others
we are made able by the hands of God
to go and do the work

salvation cannot be limited – v3

We deny God’s power
walking downtrodden
thinking God is not with us
in our struggles, our daily lives;
but salvation cannot be limited
to a future paradise
Salvation is alive, within us
in the Spirit guiding;
Eternal life now living
in God’s loving arms.

God’s peace now – v2

We constrain God, fitting the infinite,
into human terms, conditions;
but salvation must not be limited
to a future paradise

We walk in God’s peace
now, in this life, if we believe;
if we are faithful we have a foretaste
of heaven here on this earth

The Stealth of Her Design – v6

In the early–morning-dew-light
the stealth of her design
the lines and connections
the intricate lattice revealed.
Ribbons, threads, whirls,
concentric ovals, tangents,
rays, lines radiating outward;
All of her artistry visible,
a fleeting display.

Before the warming
the bleeding away of the fog
dewdrops into vapor, the waking day;
Her trap, her net,
hidden once more
ready for her prey
her breakfast, her trap hidden
just beyond, outside
of our bathroom window.

not to be pawns – v3

The admonition of the Master
to remember their children;
Not to let them be pawns
weapons of the parties
to beat each other down

We must remember the children
the true innocent parties;
Counting on their parents
to keep them safe,
to act as adults

Saturated Believing – v8

Our bodies, soaked, filled,
dripping wet, drenched,
like cloth prayer dolls;
Immersed in the living waters
of Your holy Word.

Living sacrifices, vessels, bodies,
each week, coming before You
given in worship;
Given for Your pleasure
for Your holy purpose.

we are the workers, the wheat – v6

We come into this space
consecrated for God’s purpose;
We are fed, we grow,
grounded in the waters
fed by the sun, the soil
readying for the harvest
of the Kingdom, of God.

We are the wheat,
we are the workers,
serving the Kingdom;
We share Christ’s message,
His light, His love, His hope,
Gathering others in
out in the world

We are the workers,
we are the wheat,
Sowing seeds, fruit
heads ready for harvest,
the ripe fields yearning,
our oil lamps lit
waiting for God.

We are the workers,
we are the wheat,
Sitting in the fields,
growing where we are planted
learning, serving;
Ready for the harvest;
waiting for our Lord.
