We are gifted with
a new chance in life;
We are given a new hope
in Christ, the Light
The One who came down
the One who was raised up;
We have a new path to heaven

a body uncovered – v3
I
looked aghast at the video
I
thought of his family
how
I would feel as his father
seeing
him in that condition, like that
left
in the street, abandoned
his
humanity intact,
though
they sought to take it from him
making
the victim out to be guilty
a
body uncovered, left, exposed,
where
the bullets found him
this
young man gunned down
seemingly
for no reason
a
body uncovered, watched,
left
on the hot pavement, the street
his
blood in a pool, before him,
the
stain of their shame, the shooting,
callous
indifference, of authority,
of
the cries of his parents, his loved ones,
his
neighbors watching, seeing,
that
they didn’t seem to care.

Each human body, each life,
each heart. each person
is a holy temple of the Spirit
a precious vessel of God’s love
How would things be different
of this is how we saw ourselves
our sisters, our brothers
those we meet on the street
If we saw each living person
as a precious vessel of God’s love
how would the world be better
if we saw them as one of us
